MY TOP 3 MARKETING ATTENTION GRABBERS

    1. Have the courage to go for a big idea. Whether that be a big marketing idea like a having a unicorn demonstrate your product to setting a Guinness World Record (past guest Arthur Greeno set two of these) to simply running with a brave subject line in your next email … try something that makes you feel slightly uncomfortable.
    2. I love the fact that Bobby employed the video agency because he’d fallen in love with some previous work they’d done. Look out for marketing you love and then find who created it. It might be a logo – so go find the graphic designer. It might be some great copy – so go find the copywriter.
    3. Don’t underestimate the power of Facebook videos. I guess we all think of YouTube as being the home of video; but 15 million YouTube views versus 50 million on facebook is quite a difference. Test it for yourself.

  1. LOVED this one! Robby…I mean Bobby was great. I really like he just embraced the funny aspect of his business, which broke down barriers, made people smile, and thus generated sales. Had they taken the sterile, normal, clinical approach to this product, they would have NEVER seen the results they are experiencing. GREAT lesson for everyone. Put a little personality and fun into your brand and your marketing. The other thing I picked up on, maybe I’m wrong, but when they went to make the video, it took them a few tries to get it right. But when they did, BAM!! Nice job. Great find Timbo!

  2. Thanks Mick, I mean Nick! Good point about finding the funny side – not enough businesses do that – life’s too serious as it is – injecting a smile into a brand can be a serious point-of-difference!

  3. The interview was a bit crappy [just kidding] but I really love the video. Just works on so many levels. I’d get the same creative team onto the next video working on the dropping the kids off at the pool concept. Surely some viral gold or bronze waiting to be unearthed.
