MY TOP 3 MARKETING TIPS FROM THIS EPISODE
- Identify your top 100 ideal buyers and begin targeting them – you can grab a free copy of the book The Ultimate Sales Machine here.
- Figure out how you can create a product or service that will enable you to charge a monthly membership fee for – who would have thought a men’s hairdressers could do that?!
- Be generous. Clay asked me (unprompted) after the interview where was the win / win in which we could both help each other grow our businesses. What a great question to ask. He then offered to help me grow my listener audience. Very kind 🙂
INSPIRATIONAL MARKETING QUOTE
“I’ve missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over, and over, and over agin. And that’s why I succeed.””

Hi Timbo, loved this episode. Usually not a huge fan of the ‘teach you how to be rich and successful interviews’. Like the real life stories of real people who take the plunge and start a business and become successful.
Also loved hearing recent retail episodes – so thank you!
I actually went back and re listened to episode 217 from late last year with the founder on the online retailers association. Made me wonder if you ever ended up doing to bike ride again this year??
Would love for you to interview founder of Nikki Durkin, founder of 99 Dresses. Reckon she would have some great stories and insights!!
Thanks.
Thanks Dave. I wouldn’t classify Clark in the ‘get rich quick’ category – he’s just a highly passionate fella. Episode 217 was a ripper – I continue to catch up with Paul and SBBM now has a strategic partnership with NORA. We’ll be doing an outsourcing tour to The Philippines next year for NORA Members. No, I didn’t do the bike ride this year – Ms 15 chose not to 🙁 I’ll be doing it next year, for sure. I’ll look in to 99Dresses – you’re not the fist to have mentioned it. Thanks for your support – don’t forget to leave a Listener review on iTunes ;0)

Timbo! I am humbled that you took the time to answer my question. Love your suggestions. I’m onto it!
Since posting the question on iTunes I had a little lightbulb moment. I’ve decided to develop “achievements” (certificates, possibly rewards) I can give my clients as they reach important milestones, much like what Xbox does during video games, or retailers do (reward you for your first online purchase etc).
P.S. Happy for anyone to drop by http://www.markstipic.com.au to learn more about what I do!
Wow this was ep was on fire! Such great advice from a true entrepreneur! Action action action!
Thanks Leena … yep, I’d call this a turbo-charged episode. Clay moves quick!
My pleasure, Mark. Thanks for taking the time to ask it. It’s interesting you know, the act of actually asking questions often stimulates answers within ourselves – that’s exactly what it’s done for you. Great idea re the gamification.
That was awesome Timbo!! …note: no audible version of the ‘Ultimate Sales Machine’ available. Maybe I was having a man look ??
Yes I noticed that too.. any hints Timbo? Cheers.
Tim, I appreciate you having me on your program. I’m excited to see the success stories pour in from people who take the time to execute this system…”Vision without execution is hallucination” (Thomas Edison). Boom! – Clay Clark
Wow, what an episode! I was already planning on jumping on here to leave a comment as soon as I got home (I was listening whilst driving) and then bang! There you go dropping my name at the end of the episode. I was already on a huge high and so pumped up by Clay’s energy, then hearing you share my review was just the icing on the cake. Got home and played it for my (not so interested) partner. And have just listened to the episode again so I could take notes.
Going to buy the book suggested and love the 100 ideal buyers list. I’m putting together a list of ideal sponsors for Soar Collective and ideal partners I could collaborate with to help spread the word of my new coaching packages as Jess Jones – The Start Up Business Coach.
Thanks for an awesome episode guys – I’m pumped! And about to share the link to the Soar Collective community group on Facebook as I think it’s full of great value and tips for business growth.
