I call today’s low cost marketing idea the sticky beak social media hack.
And it’s a great way to increase your social media engagement.
Now there’s a whole lot of business owners out there who are constantly scratching their heads, asking themselves what the f*** can I post to social media that’s half interesting … that will get people taking notice, commenting, hitting the Like button?
Is that you? If it is, then I can assure you that you’re not the Lone Ranger!
Well, you know what works? Giving people a little peak behind-the-scenes of your business. I mean, who doesn’t love a sneaky little look back-stage (so to speak)! It’s like looking into another world; and there’s a little bit of voyeur in us all, right?!
It’s why the Special Features sections on DVDs contain out-takes and vision of what goes on behind the camera.
So, here’s my 3-steps to helping you get more engagement on social media:
-     As of now, be on the lookout for behind-the-scenes opportunities in your business. It might be a staff member’s birthday celebration, or when someone brings their dog to work, or when your team orders pizza as they burn the midnight oil on an important project.
- Â Â Â Â When these moments arise, take a photo or a video and post it (along with a short comment) to your preferred social media channel. Maybe you could even do a Facebook Live or SnapChat!
- Â Â Â Â Look out for people commenting on these posts, and be sure to reply.
Remember, social media is simply people having conversations online.
Pro-Tip: Don’t judge these posts. You might be thinking, “Who on earth would be interested in seeing this?!”  Well, let others be the judge of that … whilst a pic of your receptionist’s Pug may not be earth shattering, it does show a human side to your business.
That’s my 3-steps to implementing my Sticky-Beak Social Media Hack.
