Creating great content is a no-brainer marketing strategy. And the King of content is video. And fortunately, marketing your small business using video has never been easier or cheaper. My guest today is Jules Watkins, former BBC, MTV and Pimp My Ride TV director and producer – who’s created a fantastic training system called iPhoneVideoHero that shows you how to create professional marketing videos using just your iPhone.
Now as you know, I am more inclined to interview a successful small business owner than I am a provider of marketing services to small businesses. However, Jules impressed me on a number of levels:
- His email requesting to appear on the show was short and compelling.
- The training product he has created is unique and much needed by small business owners wanting to create marketing videos.
- And the way he has actually packaged it all up online is sensational – a great example of how many of us could go about creating a new, passive income stream in our respective businesses.

This looks like a great value package with application for everyone with a website. My only negative is it is streamed only, no download which means viewing is dictated by access to a Wi-Fi, 3/4G signal or an internet connection of some description.
So there is no ability to download to the iPad & watch at your leisure when away from the office, town or home. Just saying, not everyone lives in town, I’m 20km from a tower & the ADSL wi-fi doesn’t go past the front door.

Hi Arn, Thanks for the comment. I can understand your issue! I have an entrepreneur from Australia who owns a vineyard who went through the training but was concerned with their download bill. So what I can also do in your case is send you a complimentary disc by mail with the files to watch offline. Just email me your address via the contact button if you choose to sign up. Jules

Thanks for a great podcast, I’ve been sat here for the last couple of hours since listening to podcast going through Jules’ online training and it’s exactly what I’ve been looking for (even though I didn’t realise it until then!).
It’s amazing how powerful the iPhone is, and how simple it is to create great video with it. I never realised I had the solution to my video problems stashed in my pocket for the last year!
The training content is really well structured in delivered in easy bite sizes, and goes through everything from start to finish. A big thanks to Jules for making it seem a lot more straight forward, and easily achievable; I’ve no excuses now to create great video on a shoestring.

Great stuff, Ahmad. You summarise what Jules has achieved very well. The way he has put the training together is mind blowing. I think we could all do with offering a training product structured and offered that way. It’s on my 2013 to do list. Best of luck creating your own videos – it’s a no-brainer marketing strategy.

I’m about to buy the system from Jules, thanks to this Podcast. Interestingly, even though I’ve been a mobile DJ and radio announcer for over 20 years, I’m extremely camera shy. It wasn’t mentioned in the podcast but I’m pretty sure alcohol is not one of the things Jules would recommend as a way of overcoming fear of the camera. Hopefully just forking out a little $$ for a how-to system should help me be a little more motivated about getting something done instead.
