223 – How to get free publicity, with Telstra Young Business Woman of the Year, Tina Tower

Tina Tower of Begin Bright is the Telstra Young Business Woman of the Year 2014. And for very good reason. She’s the founder of an amazing school readiness and primary school learning franchise, and is on her way to building an empire that’s making a difference to the lives of very young Australians.

Join me as Tina shares how she brought this idea to market through unbridled passion and some very clever marketing. In fact, her number one marketing strategy is to generate bucket-loads of free publicity by constantly creating newsworthy stories for the media. She shares exactly how she does it in this interview.

Plus, not only will you learn how to generate free publicity for your business, you’ll also discover the importance of getting clear on your way, the power of letting go, off putting in place systems and so much more.

Plus I answer a question from a listener who’s keen to make some real noise around the opening of her new natural health clinic.

Let’s get stuck right into episode 223 of Australia’s #1 marketing show. Go!

  3. Be brief – more doesn’t make you look smarter
  4. Enter awards and then leverage them (as I talk about in episode 222)
  5. Have a powerful why

Thanks for another great interview Timbo. Inspiring stuff from Tina. Guess I cant’ use age, or having children as an excuse any more.

  2. Terrific show Tina and Tim. Very inspiring-great WHY ‘I want to help kids feel bright when they learn’-brilliant! Keep going! Brad Beer (POGO Founder)

  3. I met Brad at KPI pitch fest a couple of weeks ago! He’s certainly got his WHY nailed! 🙂
Glad you liked it Brad – thanks.

  4. Hi Timbo,
I loved the podcast. So much Gold! I was driving to a from a factory stressing about a slow time in my business and Tina definitely gave me a push up to stay positive and keep looking for the possibilities put in front of me. I’ve already got some ideas.
I am also going to give some press releases a red hot go this weekend. She made it sound so easy with her ‘couple of lines’ approach instead of a long story. I also liked the after gift idea. She didn’t sound like a crazy lady to me.

  6. Thanks Julia, looking forward to seeing how you progress with those short, sharp press releases. be sure to share inside the Forum.

  7. This was AWESOME. Totally inspired me. Nearly pulled the car over so I could take notes, but would’ve meant being late for a client meeting!
Will definitely be getting in touch with Tina, what a legend. Thanks Tim!
