[Regional Queensland Special #2 – Townsville] Giovanni Spinella (Explore Property) & Daniel Condon (Polar Industries) | #568

In Part 2 of our Regional Queensland series, we catch up with two business owners from Townsville who are doing big things in their respective industries. It’s a balmy episode 568 of The (12 year-old, award-winning) Small Business Big Marketing podcast.

Regional Queensland Series – Townsville

This week we head 350 km down the road from Cairns to Townsville, meeting two more inspiring regional business founders who’ve set up businesses and lifestyles they love outside of the big smoke.

We’ll discover the upside and downside of doing business in regional Australia, plus you’ll get all the usual marketing gold you’re used to.

Today we meet Daniel Condon, a young fella who’s on a mission to create Townsville’s best air-conditioning business. Not a bad place to do it given Townsville has recorded temperatures as high as 45 degrees celsius (113 F)!

But first, let’s meet Giovanni Spinella, co-founder of Townville real estate agency Explore Property. Launched just 5 years ago, Giovanni already has 4 offices, employing 39 staff who are responsible for 1 in every 5 properties sold in the region.

So let’s go find out why Giovanni thought the area needed another real estate agency, how he attracts and retains exceptional talent and how marketing has been pivotal to his success.

I started off by asking him why he decided to start a real estate business at the lowest point of the property slump in 2016.
