#58 Marketing for Tradies. Copping it on Twitter. Where to start with marketing online.

This is this episode of Australia’s most loved small business marketing podcast in which Timbo’s in a neck brace and Lukeee gets a laugh out of his predicament. Sad but true!

Much more importantly, we get serious with answering some listener questions:

1. How can a tradie grow his market share through some smart local area marketing ideas?

2. What do you do when you’re being attacked on Twitter?

3. Where do you start with your online marketing strategy?

Small Business Big Marketing – Links & Resources Mentioned In The Show

Therecane – A website (and product) that Timbo loves.

Flying Solo – Australia’s largest community of soloprenuers.

The website Timbo has put together to sell his in-law’s beach house – A waterfront property on Raymond Island – Gippsland Real Estate

  1. hey guys love your podcasts i’ve been listening to them for over a year. I’m in the local internet marketing industry and implement your marketing idea’s all the time to market to my local area. Great tip for everyone is networking referral groups work fantastically and I get work through my group referring to me all the time.

Anyway for the last question you mention to make sure you get your website in order and I thought I could certainly help this guy out in a massive way or any of your listeners. My company is called InternetEdge.com.au and my name is Grant Kennedy and can be reached on 1300 667 636. Hope you dont mind the plug guys! love the show. keep up the good work!!

If anyone would like to chat about the referral groups and how they work take a look at BNI. that is the biggest and runs all over australia. feel free to call me about this also if you want to find out more.

maybe you guys can explain BNI to your listeners guys as it’s fantastic way for local businesses to work together and build relationships and refer each other work! I know some of the members dont advertise at all and are really busy with just the work from referrals and relationships they’ve built up over the years.

    cheers Grant

  3. Some brilliant tips here which I will be sharing with a mobile boat mechanic who is really trying hard to get business through his presence online.

I think one of the biggest challenges for tradies – shoot me if I’m wrong is finding time. After labouring all day, then to do the paper work chase invoices, go for a surf and then focus on your online game. Could be a little time challenging.
