From the first time I saw Emma & Tom’s Juices on the shelf at my local cafe, I was hooked. Finally, there was a cool looking juice brand, with interesting flavours, no funky additives, plus it was named after two anonymous people. Who the hell was Emma and Tom?! It’s taken me 18 years to find that out; but it was worth the wait. Let’s go and meet Tom Griffith in a very juicy episode 591 of The (12 year-old, award-winning) Small Business Big Marketing podcast.
A little more about Emma & Tom’s juice-preneur Tom Griffith …
Following successful corporate careers in both Melbourne and London, in 2004 Tom Griffith (with business partner Emma), used their combined savings to fulfil a dream of creating a premium Australian juice brand.
Emma & Tom’s Juices was born, and in the years since, has grown to be one of Australia’s leading healthy drinks and snacks businesses, selling a range of all natural, minimally-processed whole-fruit juices, quenchers, sparkling juices, iced teas, no added sugar flavoured milks and snack bars through more than 6,000 Australian outlets, as well as to the major grocery retailers in Coles, Woolworths and IGA. You’ll also find them overseas in China, Jordan, Dubai, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia.
So join me, as Tom shares:
- How he and Emma escaped their corporate cubicles to start what became Australia’s most loved premium juice brand
- How they got marketing traction in those important early days
- How to create an emotional connection with your customers … no matter what you sell
- And so much more …
We start with Tom talking about where the idea for starting a premium juice brand came from …
